Tropical Fruit Groves
South Florida has tropical fruit groves that grow no where else in the United States. Avacados, Bananas, and Mangos have long been favorites. In recent years, Central and South American, and most recently Asian, fruits have become popular and profitable. Lychees, Carambola, Longans, Mamey, Dragon Fruit, and Papayas are now planted in areas that once were occupied by row crops and lime groves.
